Italy has a prominent position in the European dairy industry: it is the largest producer Country of PDO Cheeses.





This Country:
  • accounts for 9,6% of EU milk deliveries (year 2024),
  • exports dairy products, converted into milk equivalent (ME) for the 40,9% of the milk deliveries,
  • accounts for 6,7% of EU dairy exports in ME (year 2024).
