This page contains the wholesale prices for the Italian cheese Asiago P.D.O. (Protected Designation of Origin), recorded by the Thiene - Vicenza Chamber of Commerce,
with regard to the following varieties:
- Fresh Asiago (Asiago Pressato, aged for 20 days)
- Mature Asiago (Asiago d'Allevo, aged for 2-3 months)
- Stagionato "Mezzano" (aged for 4-6 months)
- Stagionato "Vecchio" (aged for 10-14 months)
The prices recorded over the last ten surveys are listed in the table, while the graph to the side illustrates price trends over the last three years.
The graphs compares prices for Fresh Asiago and Mature Asiago, over a given period.
N.B.:
Asiago is Italy's fourth-ranking P.D.O. made from cow's milk.
It is a prestigious cheese with a production area that includes the entire regions of Vicenza and Trento, plus parts of Padua and Treviso.
Obtained exclusively from the demarcated milk collection and cheese production area, where there is a synthesis between local tradition, knowledge and techniques, one of the key features of this product is its localness .
Mature Asiago aged 2-3 months is the most traded in the market of Mature Asiago.
